It’s been a while since we had one post about Star Wars here, and this one goes to all Jedis and Siths out there, who may perhaps have half-elven blood as I do.

Above you can see both codes of the two main opposite “religious/philosophical” factions that describes the essence of each one. Strong and meaningful words they are. But who wrote them? Where do they come from? And most important…how would they be in Quenya?

Odan-Urr

The Jedi Code established rules and modes of behavior for all Jedis. Even though it changed with time, the principles remained the same. The version brought here is a refined version made by Jedi Master Odan-Urr who lived around 5,000 BBY until 3,996 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin or the events depicted in Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope). Grand Master Luke Skywalker redefined the wording of the code when reestablishing the Jedi Order after 11 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin).

Sorzus Syn

The Code of the Sith known as Qotsisajak in the Sith language was the mantra that reinforced the core beliefs of the Sith Order. It was considered the dark side counterpart to the Jedi Code, and was first authored on the planet Korriban in 6,900 BBY by the Jedi heretic Sorzus Syn. The code remained remarkably unchanged through the millennia, as the Sith Lord Darth Bane still taught the words of Sorzus Syn when he began rebuilding the Sith Order around 1,000 BBY, after the Seventh Battle of Ruusan.
