Nai i cantëa nauva ólë!
In celebration of May, the 4th (be with you) Quenya101 proudly institutes the tradition of honoring such a prestigious saga, Star Wars. It’s also of my passions and it’s not that hard to make cool crossovers with it and Tolkien. It’s all interconnected, you know.
This day, I’ll bring you Vader! The one and only. The most iconic character of all, the one who captivated people’s attention and fear from the early minutes on. Below, check all the immortal quotes of Anakin Skywalker a.k.a. Darth Vader a.k.a. Luke’s daddy!
Téravë, nalyë poldórëa, ve i Aran apacennë. (Indeed, you are powerful, as the Emperor has foreseen)
Massë Pátemë? (Where’s Padmé?)
Navin úvoronwelya naica (I find your lack of faith disturbing)
Áva carë ni i nahtien le (Don’t make me kill you)
Nai i cantëa nauva ólë (May the Fourth be with you)
Ná, Herunya (Yes, My Master)
Lá, nanyë atarelya (No, I am your father)
Olá pessoas do Brasil!
Dia do Fã 2013
It’s been a while since we had one post about Star Wars here, and this one goes to all Jedis and Siths out there, who may perhaps have half-elven blood as I do.
Above you can see both codes of the two main opposite “religious/philosophical” factions that describes the essence of each one. Strong and meaningful words they are. But who wrote them? Where do they come from? And most important…how would they be in Quenya?
Eä lá felmë
Eä lá unólë
Eä lá melmë
Eä lá avacúma
Eä lá firië

The Jedi Code established rules and modes of behavior for all Jedis. Even though it changed with time, the principles remained the same. The version brought here is a refined version made by Jedi Master Odan-Urr who lived around 5,000 BBY until 3,996 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin or the events depicted in Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope). Grand Master Luke Skywalker redefined the wording of the code when reestablishing the Jedi Order after 11 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin).
Sérë ná huru
ëa er melmë
angainorinyar nar rácinë
I Túrë leryuva ni
The Code of the Sith known as Qotsisajak in the Sith language was the mantra that reinforced the core beliefs of the Sith Order. It was considered the dark side counterpart to the Jedi Code, and was first authored on the planet Korriban in 6,900 BBY by the Jedi heretic Sorzus Syn. The code remained remarkably unchanged through the millennia, as the Sith Lord Darth Bane still taught the words of Sorzus Syn when he began rebuilding the Sith Order around 1,000 BBY, after the Seventh Battle of Ruusan.
And as a bonus round, here it’s the Sith Code in their original tongue as well as a sample of its alphabet below:
Shâsotjontû châtsatul nu tyûk.
Tyûkjontû châtsatul nu midwan.
Midwanjontû châtsatul nu asha.
Ashajontû kotswinot itsu nuyak.
Wonoksh Qyâsik nun.
He shot it!
With great honor I, Erunno Alcarinollo, come before ye all, to commend my military man, Scott Wall due to his laudable deed, full of beauty and deep meaning. Like the old knights of Rohan and Gondor, he fights for our realm, to protect us and deliver us from the enemy. NOW, he does it with style:
Lúmë melien ar lúmë tevien, lúmë ohtan ar lúmë rainen.
Time. For everything there is an appointed time, even time for every affair under the heavens. And the time came for him to be included in our Hall of Fame! From now on, he shall be called The One With The Time, the 6th agent of our special forces. (The One, The One In Female Form, The One With The Light, The One With The Force & The One With The Birdies)
Noteworthy to say is that he fights in another galaxies as well! He’s a multi-battle soldier! Way to go, dude!
And below, a complete peak at his art:
In 47 Yávië 140, The One With The Time had his sentence translated into Quenya at the How do we say (…) in Quenya? section. He used FAST LINE (because you know…time is precious) and now we all have the pleasure to see the result on his skin!
Congratulations, Warrior! Mission accomplished!
…cuz it is with HIM
…and the Force is a strong ally!
Rise Lord Diefenthäler! I now pronounce you Darth Elvish and from now on you will be addressed here as The One With The Force. I’m not sure if you are a Knight of light or tend to follow the lies of the Jedi, but I can assure you: Strong is the Dark Side and….the cookies are pretty delicious! Yummy!
Well, as you can see, my buddy from Brazil, Fábio Diefenthäler (Wait? Brasilien oder Deutschland?) has got this beauty tattooed on his skin! May the Force be with you in Quenya (Nai i Túrë nauva ólë). Super cool, man! Originally thought, mixing two grand passions of mine too (Star Wars+Lord of the Rings).
Fábio, chilling out on a distant planet before a Lightsaber training!
The One With The Force will join the ranks and be part of the most exclusive group alongside The One With The Light, The One In Female Form & The One. 4 people from the 4 corners of the World with 1 thing in common: a kick-ass 100% legit Quenya tattoo (and you know this is kinda rare)
Special date! Special post! Star Wars at first glance may appear to have nothing to do with Tolkien & elves. Just at first glance! Actually G.Lucas has made several tributes to the work of Tolkien like naming a planet in Quenya (i.e. Endor, the planet of the Ewoks. Endor means Middle-Earth in Quenya) and making a very very special role for the Ewoks themselves (you know…little people who unexpectedly saved the day at the end against all odds…*cough…HOBBITS…cough*)
See? One paragraph and 2 huge facts that entwine Tolkien & Star Wars probably in a way you didn’t see coming.
To celebrate the date, let’s have those quote cards so widely spread in the social media featuring Star Wars characters and Quenya (of course my horse)
Nai i Túrë nauva ólë (May the Force be with you)
Istan ëa mára lessë (I know there is good in you)
Caurë tië ná mórenna (Fear is the path to the dark side)
Teldavë haryuvalvë ahtarië (At last we’ll have revenge)
Nelyë otorno, mellenyel. (You were my brother, I loved you)
Tevinyel! (I hate you!)
Anacin, rácal órenya (Anakin, you’re breaking my heart)
Melinyel / Istan (I love you / I know)
Nas neuma (It’s a trap)
Uúuúuuhhh aáarr úhrr arhhh (Uuuurrr aaaarrr uurrr arghh)
