An elvish love poem

This is the last part of the series “An elvish love gift & story“. A tribute to love and to Ismael and Rafaela, the Brazilian couple shown here before.

Ismael & RafaelaIf you have read the other posts, you are aware of their romance and when it started. Yes, it was around Christmas time, so….I saved this very finale for today! Even though I don’t celebrate Christmas, I thought very appropriate to tribute this special time of the year for this couple. Also, what we have here now, it’s the very poem he wrote to her, a lovely poem in Portuguese (their native tongue) declaring his love and asking to date her! So sweet! Are you inspired? Not yet…you gotta check first the poem and its Quenya translation! Here it comes:

Original version

De início sem saber estava, na verdade,
aparentemente de ti não gostava.
Mas ao te conhecer realmente,
mudei minha opinião totalmente!

Nas altas moradas élficas tempo se passou,
E uma grande amizade começou,
minas douradas se esvaíram, reis caíram,
criamos laços, nossas conversas não param!

Dias vão e vem, as folhas caem ao vento

Trouxe calor, o ouro do sol,
Meu dia-a-dia mudou, a escuridão passou
Veio a mim princesa, bela tal qual a própria natureza!

Dias vão e vem, as folhas caem ao vento

O maior desejo é te encontrar, te ver brilhar

E do amor que me faz sempre sentir
Desejo que possas me ouvir!

Dias vão e vem, as folhas caem ao vento

Nossos nomes, pequenos versos
Élfica linguagem, faz da história realidade!
Terras médias, dias distantes. Do imortal a eternidade,
Mergulhados, submersos, estamos neste grande universo!

Dias vão e vem, as folhas caem ao vento

Pretty, isn’t it? If you cannot understand Portuguese or Quenya (I used the English simpler version shown here for the translation work), check below Ismael’s own English version of his poem. Nevermind the grammar mistakes, embark on this boat and sail the sea of love, one may say this Belegaer of Love:

Initially without knowing I was, actually,
apparently of you I did not like.
But when I really get to know you,
I changed my opinion completely!

In the high elven mansions time has passed,
And a great friendship began,
gold mines became empty, kings fell,
we create ties, our conversations do not stop!

Days came and go, leaves fall to the wind
However my love for you remains!

The long months have brought us closer,
And of brothers to lovers, were up years, crazy, insane!
But before that we have been away for a while,
Great fog made, waves blurred oceans.

Finally the star of your eyes enlightened me
It brought warmth, sun gold,
My day-to-day changed, darkness passed by
Princess came to me, just like the beautiful of nature!

Days came and go, leaves fall to the wind
However my love for you remains!

With its simplicity, makes life this way smile
In the always white mountains, in dreaming,
My biggest wish is to meet you, see you shine
For as star, you will never fall.

In these single words, I want to ask you something!
In your long and golden curls, do not forget,
And about the love that you always makes me feel
I wish you can hear me!

Days came and go, leaves fall to the wind
However my love for you remains!

With the mistery of the ring,
Written our names are,
Dwarves push the barrel,
For today they will drink in celebration!

Our names, short verses
Elvish language, makes the story true!
Lands averages, distant days. The immortal eternity
Immersed, submerged, we are in this great universe!

Days came and go, leaves fall to the wind
However my love for you remains!

Listen well, my love, so I write,
I wish forever lasts, you see,
This love that for us remains!
Hills grow, make a new relief.

All roads come here to meet,
all the time you need to embrace,
then accepted my love, my heart,
date me day after day, with each new season?
