In the 2Corinthians quote, why did you translate “faith” as “estel”? I think the sustantivation of “sav-” is more accurate.

    • When we dig deeper in the meaning of “faith” and mere “belief” we see a difference where estel translates it accurately while the root verb you mention denotes a belief rather than faith. Faith is connected with hope and expectancy on things not beheld and here is what WJ reads about estel: “a temper of mind, steady, fixed in purpose, and difficult to dissuade and unlikely to fall into despair or abandon its purpose”

That’s why estel encompasses deeper meanings related to hope, trust and faith.

Hi! Thanks for getting to my question so quickly, love that fast line! Anyway, I suppose I should have asked, but is there any way you can write out the English that each of the words you used in the translation would roughly translate to? I am hoping to try and understand how you translated the phrase.

  10. I would like to know how to write my name in Quenya language. My name is Pablo Silva, thanks for your help.
